FINAL COVER ADJUSTMENTS
So far, I think this is the best cover I have came up with yet, the idea is there but I just need to get it perfect before I decide that it is the one. The following images show minor changes in the same cover.
What I did was, set up the cut outs on the table the way that I wanted them, photographed it and e-mailed to myself so I could then open up the photo on the computer. I then uploaded it onto iPhoto to crop and straighten to then upload to Photoshop.
I then selected the letters with the polygonal lasso tool and separated them from the background as it wasn't as black as I wanted to be. I then used the bucket tool to fill the new background in with a really black black.
When the black got really black, I realised that I need to do something with the bar code, the cut out one didn't look right, so i tried getting rid of the white barcode background with the bucket tool but it only got to some parts of it, which gave quite an interesting effect. But no, I had to get it right. So I searched for a white barcode with no background on google but there wasn't any, so I got a black one, got it on photoshop, painted it white and applied to cover.
I was then extremely happy with my cover, excluding the minor cutting errors on the cut out letter such as the wobbly letter O.
I then got asked why my barcode is so big, I don't know I just liked it that way and I thought it worked but then when I went back and made it smaller I realised that I was wrong.
The last 4 images in this post show my experimentation with type colour and the placing of it. I am still not happy with the type but everything else is perfect.
I think this front covers works so well because of the image of trump underneath, that looks well because the letters are bold and fully cut out, the V and W are triangle like and the P and O don't have the extra holes in them and that makes the image underneath more out there.
