Botanics - Developments

Through experimentation I think I have found something I love doing. Printmaking, cutting out and mixing things together. So I suppose that's like collage and mixed media. For the Hydrangea Paniculata plant from Monteviot house and gardens I made lino prints and cut out petals, in my sketchbook I piled things on top of one another and the outcome really got to me. I found that I really enjoy doing this sort of thing and took it further.

The 2 photographs above are my final outcomes for one of the gardens, They are lino cuts with cuts in them and photographs of hydrangea paniculata glued on the bottom of them. I absolutely love the way they turned out.

For the iris sibrica perry's blue plant, I decided to go for abstracted forms.

Yesterday when I went to college I just went crazy with it, printed out photographs of the plant and stuck them onto the white abstracted shapes, Painted over them with acrylic paint and did some mono prints. I got some newspapers and stuck them on and stuck the mono prints on top. This one is not finished and it's quite messy as it was not planned and spontaneous so I will do something similar but make it a lot more controlled, and that will be my final outcome for iris sibrica perry's blue.
