I guess I am kind of getting the hang of studio portrait photography, although at the start I felt limited without the tripod I think I managed well without it.
That perfect side profile
Utilising light to really define the profile of the face, I think these are really good.
Using hands to create more shadows and creases. This one is interesting with the finger on the left being hardly visible.
Nice shadows on left hand side.
the look of enlightenment. Love it how u can juuuuust see the hair a tiny bit.
Little closer.
The involvement of hands within the face makes really interesting composition and really enhances the eyes. Love this one.
Same but more posey, felt kind of like a fashion photographer and director today.
I tried to mimic Jacob Aue Sobol - I will edit these on photoshop for a better result.
Thinking more dramatic for more interesting images.
I got her to wear a turtleneck in aim of creating a really dark background so only face and hands are visible - she looks like the moon hahaha
I like this one, the shadowing is really subtle.
The positioning of the hands makes really nice highlights on the knuckles that go nicely with the face highlights.
Thinking about contrast between the background and top.
Hands are a really good thing to photograph - very nice shadows and I like the strong highlight on the two nails on right hand side, but I wish it was only on one.
some great photos there
