Jacob Aue Sobol photography

Dramatic lighting in his photos is so addictive, I love looking at them. Might even print some off and stick them on my wall, but first I'm going to try something similar. These are some photos that I want to try and mimic but I will need to take some time and research how to make the shadows so intense because right now I have no clue.

The hands create a really nice shadow on the face, I like the textured background.

I've never seen such a good contrast without over exposure. Wow.

The window condensation creates an amazing overlay texture, no idea how to change the settings to have both the condensation and face in focus, This may be double exposed...

Perfect shadow, the scale of it.

I just like the subject matter in this one.

Close up on a strange body part, turned out to become a really interesting composition.

The idea of 'realism' comes through in some of Jacob Sobol's photo's which reminds me on Nan Goldin and that's why I like this photo, mainly because I've not seen one like that before. If I have, It was a skinny size 4 Victoria's Secret model wearing pretty laced panties and looking rather flattering. This is the better opposite.

The composition and shadows grabbed my intention - the subject matter would freak some people out hah.
