north berwick taught me....

Went on a road trip to North Berwick with Murdo yesterday and I feel weaaaaak in landscape photography.

I liked the colours of the crab with matching grains of sand.

I love a close up

I found it very hard to capture how big the waves really were, this was the best I managed to get which is disappointing.

I like this one, the smoke is the same as the water which makes the image interesting.

Again I was trying to capture the power of the waves.

Now I see where I went wrong, the rule of thirds doesn't apply..... but I like how colourful everything was that's why I took the picture.

It's sort of like two sides, the light and the dark and Murdo splits them in

This looked so much cooler in real life.

The shadows are good, just Murdo and the sea (which is funny cause he's scared of the sea but he looks happy, and Murdo actually means man of the sea)

The light is just perfect here, contrasting with the waves.

Love this one, how I caught the dog in motion jumping off the couch. The viewpoint is quite interesting too with different things going on.

Coffee giving signs? Looks quite trashy with the worn out and dirty window sill (not mine obviously cause I'm clean) I just thought this was a snazzy ready made still life.

It was an accident its not just cause I like blood and bruises. But I tried to open a bottle with a lighter and I clearly can't do it right.

Does a photo always have to be subjective and understandable to everyone? These images are very abstract, they speak about a female form, but instead of the body being recognisable the photo's are cropped into different areas so it doesn't just stay a nude body - so it becomes something more? but something less? Something not everybody will see as what it is. In black and white it's harder to recognise what part of the body some images are, blurry to help with that.

lights nd shit

I don't often get a chance to be in the house when the natural light is sooo goooood. So I made the most of it.

Blinds are always creating interesting lights and shadows and with the help of one of my plants I got a nice photo with beautiful contrast, the plant is very close and light - contrasting with the wall in the background.

The plant looks really cool here because of the viewpoint its taken from, my cats whiskers cause hes always in the way. I kinda think they make the image look more interesting.

The tree was making shadows too. The tinsel on the top right contrasts nicely with the shadow.

Reflection. I like this image because wrapping presents is my all time favourite thing to do and I am a pro at it.

digitally made invite card ideas

CYMK colour half tone. I thought this would fit in well with the invite card idea because the invite is to an exhibition and to show the outsiders (people who don't understand art) that this exhibition will be questionable and controversial by making the invite card only understandable in a certain distance - it will have to make them think, like how do I read this? How did they do this? Why did they do this? And if the invite card makes questions raise - it's a good start!

In my sketchbook my main interest for the design of the invite card has been the idea of vertigo - and it's visual appearance. Combining with typography I thought would create a great concept. Having to move the invite card around to read it makes you think differently, a little taster for the exhibition - some things may be difficult to understand and require a little longer to look at/think about. Reading this by moving it around can also make you feel dizzy - like vertigo (also shaped like the idea of vertigo) people don't like feeling dizzy - it's an uncomfortable feeling. parts of the exhibition may or may not be hard to handle, may be offensive, annoying - basically piss people off :)

I like this one, ink is quite uncontrollable and messy - like art students. It's quite old fashioned looking - because ink is a traditional medium for writing and drawing, making it that little more modern by using @ instead of at. The pink makes it more exciting
