Controversial - Key To My Magazine

Controversial imagery and the ugly truth is something I want to include in my Viewpoint magazine.

Luis Quiles is a Spanish artist that mirrors the ugly side of society with his controversial illustrations.

I really like those because it makes us feel dirty and guilty. Me, obviously I have a slight internet addiction, who doesn't, but I'm not proud of it. If it were up to me I'd go bad to the days when the only kind of phones there were, were house phones, no internet, no likes, no worries.

Food industries are advertising food which is making us ill with heart disease and diabetes, which is just as bad as cigarettes which lead to lung cancer. Cigarettes have been banned from any sort of advertisements yet food companies are going strong.

Myra Hindley portrait. She was a child murderer, yet this portrait is made with children's hand prints. It creeps me out that's why I like it.

Children crying over online "likes" pathetic and so true.

Viewpoint - Magazine Covers I Find Appealing

The target audience for the communication through Art & Design unit is 18-30 year olds, so because I am 18, I collected images of magazine covers which I found appealing myself.

Rolling Stone usually has musicians or actors on their front cover, this attracted my attention because it's somebody that I don't know - which means there will be an interesting article inside.

Never have I seen the pope on a magazine cover like this, If rolling stone are writing about what he said, I wanna know too.

The ray gun magazine layout is different and unusual - that's why it grabs my attention.

The phrase "News, Nudity & Nonsense" just seems relevant.

I like the photograph, the vibrant colours on a nude body - I find it pleasing to look at. and the festival guide interests me.

It's a gif. That's cool. Seems straight to the point and entertaining.

Botanics - The Rose Garden Frames

I got some red roses sometime last year and unintentionally I let them dry out. I came up with an idea to keep them forever by putting them in a frame and hanging on my wall.

On international women's day, me and my mum got given roses from my brother, that made me think of the rose garden in monteviot house. For each garden I am planning to do something different and these are my outcomes for the rose garden.

I took parts of the roses apart because they wouldn't fit in otherwise

Being Polish, as most of Polish people are Christian, Easter has always been quite a big deal for my family, it's the time when Jesus died and came back to life. So the whole Easter weekend gets taken seriously. On Good Friday, on Jesus's death we have a day of lent when we don't eat meat or chocolate etc. we make PISANKI which are hard boiled eggs (either chicken, geese or duck) that we then decorate. Decoration can vary but in my family painting and carving has been a tradition, my dad used to always carve the eggs, and I paint them. On Saturday, we prepare a basket filled with those painted eggs, a slice of meat, some dairy, fruit, veg and salt. We take this basket to church where they get sprayed with holy water. On Sunday we have a big breakfast to celebrate Jesus's re-birth, those eggs are the main part of our meal.

This year we used duck eggs, because they are white and better to paint on.
